Stephen graduated from the University of Sydney with Honours in 1997 and has worked as a clinical physiotherapist in various NHS hospitals in the UK and as a sports physiotherapist in snowfields in Canada, Austria and Perisher Blue.
Stephen’s special interests lie in the treatment of complex biomechanical dysfunction. He understands that the body consists of many different systems that are intricately connected. When all these systems function in harmony with each other we have a healthy body. Wellness exists. Stephen employs very specific treatment techniques to address the dysfunction present in each individual. Through careful guidance the client learns to become more aware of their body; learns how to release excess tension; and control areas of instability.
Stephen is also developing a working model in the assessment and treatment in neonatal and paediatric populations. He is achieving excellent success rates in neonatal children who have: difficulty feeding/suckling; colic and other digestive dysfunction; head shape or other body asymmetries such as torticollis; and musculoskeletal imbalances.
Stephen is currently based in US and will return to Active Physio a couple of times per year to see clients. If you are interested in seeing Steve when he returns, please contact reception and let us know. When Steve is due to return, we will contact you to make an appointment.
